A Mile High Vacation

Enough with the mile high puns (for now). Having grown up in New Mexico, I was really excited to return to that region for the first time in 10 years. A good friend from high school was getting married and seemed like the perfect setting for a ten-year high school reunion. Add in the fact that I had always wanted to visit Denver, this trip was amazing!

The food was great, the breweries (and beer) were great, and the weather was utterly bearable (and great)!

Upon landing, we immediately headed to Prost Brewery (after checking in at the hotel and changing). We had arrived!

The next day, we had some more beer at Yard House Brewery.

And of course, aside from all of the foodie delights, there was a wedding to attend!

And of course, while we were in Denver...this happened:

Did you know that Denver has a thriving Dutch population? Sure makes me want to create a 5-year plan for moving there. Tot ziens!

Southern Hospitality

This weekend, K and I traveled to Birmingham, AL for her cousin's wedding. I felt blessed to have been welcomed into such a tight-knit family. Say what you want about Alabama (or the South) for that matter, but there's no ignoring Southern Hospitality.

The groom is a pilot in the US Air Force and so it was very fitting that the rehearsal dinner was at the Southern Museum of Flight. Food was great. The wait staff asked me if I wanted grape juice instead of champagne. As "pay back," I drank beer and tipped them lots. After the formal program, we perused the airplanes that were everywhere and we even got to sit in a few of them.
